Please read this at your next meeting:

This year’s Charity Ball will be hosted by the Magic Ponies the Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons of the local Chapters. It will be held on Saturday, June 20, at the India Shrine Center, 3601 N.W. 36th Street in Oklahoma City.  The theme is a Country Western Dance.  Suggested attire could be a denim ensemble, or your best-pressed jeans, country western shirt and boots. This means ladies as well as the men! Dress for comfort; no formals or suits, please. The price of admission will include a catered dinner, a dance with Dale Wehba for our Country-Western DJ, a basket auction, and a formal booth.

The tickets are $25 each. If you would like to reserve an entire table(s) for your group, the cost is $200 per table.  Each table seats eight. Individual seating and table reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please send your reservation requests to: Gayla McClure, 1410 N. Washington, Elk City, OK 73644. All reservations must be accompanied by a check for the amount of the tickets or tables requested.  Reservations must be received no later than June 10th In order to finalize our arrangements with the caterers. We also have a seating limit in the Shrine Center. No tickets will be sold at the door. 

The doors will open at 5:30 PM, and reservation check-in will begin at this time. As no tickets will be mailed, you will check-in at the hostess table near the door to receive your table number for your seating placement.  The dinner will begin at 6:30 PM.

Highlight of the evening will be the auction of Chapter Theme Baskets. The baskets will be sold in a live auction, featuring an inspiring auctioneer and we will have a Silent Auction. All monies raised will go to Oklahoma Diabetes Research.

We are asking chapters to put together a theme basket for donation. Please prepare a card and affix it to your basket. The card should include your Chapter name, the theme of the basket, a description of the contents and the estimated value. This will help our auctioneer start at an appropriate value for the basket. Please bring your Chapter basket with you to the Ball. If you are unable to attend the Ball, please contact your District Deputy to make arrangements to pick up the basket.

A Formal Booth will be another fundraiser for this event.  Look through your closet and see if you have a formal or two that you might donate. Sister Barbara Benton has donated formals so we will have a booth for Barbara’s formals. Please bring your formals with you to the Ball. If you are unable to attend the Ball, arrangements can be made to pick up the formals.

Spouses, Significant Others, Rainbow, DeMolay, and Job’s Daughters are all welcome at the same cost per ticket. However, we ask that you not bring children to the event. Alcoholic beverages will not be allowed.

Come on out for a fun evening and support our Charity Project by “Waltzing with the Stars.”
